Hi! My name is Shelbi Goossen, and it may seem obvious, but I am the owner of The Ruth Society. In May of 2025 I graduated from Northeastern State University with a bachelor's in corporate communications and a minor in graphic design. Therefore, you may be asking yourself how I ended up here. Well, after an abrupt change from the College of Science to Liberal Arts, I quickly fell back in love with a realm I have loved for most of my life. Starting very young, like 7 years old, I naturally drew all the time. Doodles. Paint. Coloring. Which quickly escalated into full-blown projects with my art lesson teacher and then projects in school art, designing my parents' business logo at 12, painting windows on businesses for fundraisers, painting signs for football games, and much, much more. But in the latter years of high school and early years of college, I had kind of marked art as a passion, not a job. Adulting helped me figure out that I actually do get to choose a job that includes what I LOVE to do. Art. Design. And more importantly, being able to share that gift and skill with others!
